‘Be Positive’ support groups
Finding out you’re HIV positive and the thought of living with HIV is often far scarier than the reality and you don’t have to go through this alone. We can help you to realize that it is possible to go on to live your life as before and to be happy, healthy and confident.
Meeting and chatting to people who have been through or are going through the same as you can make a huge difference.
Our ‘Be Positive’ groups are support and social groups for anyone living with or affected by HIV. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and the aims of the groups are:
- to create a safe, relaxed, non-judgmental, friendly and confidential setting for anyone living with or affected by HIV
- for participants to have access to up to date information and advice on issues relating to sex, relationships, HIV, STIs, medication, self-esteem, feelings of isolation ,keeping safe and maintaining good sexual and general health
- to provide an opportunity to socialize and make friends
- to provide an opportunity to share views, experiences and coping mechanisms and to offer or receive peer support
You can stay for a coffee and a quick chat or for the whole session; the choice is yours! We also organize social activities.
