Red and Alive Campaign website launched

DHIVERSE, working in partnership with local groups and charities, businesses, the NHS and local government have launched a website for World AIDS Day. The site called redandalive.com aims to build upon the success of last years website which attracted more than 35,000 visitors over the World AIDS Day period.
The website includes information about local events and how people can be part of the Red and Alive campaign, including details of events local to you and the opportunity for anyone to add an event to the database. Through redandalive.com anyone can download or order free resources and materials to help plan an event or find out more.
Through the Red and Alive campaign more than 100 local events and activities will be organised across East Anglia to promote awareness of HIV and sexual health.
The website includes resources and information to support people organising events and activities in their workplace on an around World AIDS Day, which is on the 1st December. DHIVERSE's Development Manager, Steve Moralee, said "DHIVERSE is looking to work with employers locally to raise awareness, and improve the employment environment for people living with HIV, this campaign will help us to get the word out there and raise the profile of HIV at work."
The Red and Alive project will also reach out to local schools, voluntary groups and licensed premises. DHIVERSE General Manager, Luke Mallett, said of the campaign "HIV stigma and discrimination continues to blight the lives of many of the 70,000 people living with HIV in the UK. Through Red and Alive we will be encouraging people to join us in organising events at work, at home and in the community to raise the levels of awareness higher than ever before."
