The red ribbon was adopted as the international symbol of HIV/AIDS awareness in 1991. Not only will you be supporting your local HIV charity by buying a red ribbon, but also you will be supporting the many million people living with HIV around the world.
In 2004 more people than ever before were diagnosed with HIV in the UK: more than twice as many people as were diagnosed in 1991, in fact. By the time you have read this page at least five people will have died of AIDS somewhere in the World.
You may not be able to give much time, but lend us your hands for an hour or two and help to make the difference in the fight against HIV and AIDS.
