Schools and Youth

pupilWelcome to the schools and young peoples pages of the Red & Alive website, these pages are here to help you with ideas of how to get involved in Red & Alive 07, in your school or at your youth group.

We have listed a number of ideas for events you may want to organise and advice on how to make them successful. We really hope that you will find something that you can do to be involved in Red & Alive, even if it is just wearing a red ribbon on World AIDS Day. If you are holding an event as part of Red & Alive, please let us know so we can add it to the events section of this site.

We are also really keen to hear feedback from you and any other ideas you might have. Alternatively you can order resources and materials from the menu link to the left or download our fundraising pack.

Many schools hold lessons or assembly talks about HIV and AIDS on or around World AIDS Day. These are good for raising awareness of HIV and AIDS, and in setting the context for any events and fundraising.

DHIVERSE have a team of volunteers who can provide talks and interactive workshops across Cambridgeshire and in some surrounding areas. Don't worry if your timetable is full for this year as we can provide talks at any time of the year.

There are many ways to raise funds and awareness and most of them are fun too.

Schools play a very important part in fundraising for charities, it is estimated they raise over £200 million a year. Education is key to the aims of Red and Alive, as making sure that everyone has the knowledge to protect themselves and those they care about will help to ensure a future without HIV.

wear red!Why not plan a Wear Red day at your school or youth club. Students and staff make a donation, you can choose the amount, to wear red or perhaps to not wear uniform for the day. Some schools even have fancy dress days.
