The Spectrum Project

Just as the spectrum is made up of different colours, so does this Project involve communities from different ethnic backgrounds. It also reflects a wide range of feelings and opinions on HIV and health issues.

DHIVERSE is happy to welcome me, , as the new African Communities Health Development Worker, to work with African and other minority ethnic groups, in promoting HIV education and support- IN OUR OWN WAYS!

I would love to work with groups and individuals who are willing to help and support each other in their communities, with help from DHIVERSE.

What we hope to do is not just about going for tests, but rather to come together to organise cultural events and to talk about good sexual health, in a relaxed way maybe with music and food.

If you are concerned about HIV, there is always someone you can talk to in confidence here at DHIVERSE.

Anyone is welcome to be a member of the HIV Community Working Group, which promotes good sexual health, peer training and provides information on HIV.

You don't have to be HIV positive to come to DHIVERSE. We also offer quality training for our volunteers, who can lead a positive living campaign in their communities and get involved in training others around HIV/AIDS issues.

This information is available in different languages - please ask DHIVERSE if you are interested.

It doesn't matter how long you have lived in the area, it may be a day or even less. DHIVERSE would be glad to hear from you and to offer anything it can around HIV and health issues.

Living with HIV?

In addition to the Spectrum project, which is for everyone regardless of whether they have HIV, don't have HIV or just don't know. For those who are living with HIV, we can welcome you to our Positive Options meetings and social events organised by positive people for positive people. Positive Options includes people from all backgrounds, ages and orientations.

Everyone who goes to Positive Options has HIV, and it is a great way to make new friends and support each other. We offer information and advice and work closely with other organisations which can be of help. We can also offer use of the internet, and therapies such as massage and reflexology.
