Remembering DHIVERSE in your will

Leaving a legacy to DHIVERSE helps to ensure that our services are available for future generations. Thus your legacy is not only a gift of money, property or shares but a gift of hope of a world without HIV.

Only around 30% of adults in the UK have made a will. Making a will is the only way you can be sure that your wishes will be followed after you die. If you don't make one, part or all of your estate may go to people who you never intended to benefit. For example if you have no surviving relatives your entire estate could go to the Government. Legacies to charity are income tax efficient and could reduce the amount of inheritance tax payable on your estate. A will also helps to avoid confusion over your intentions and gives you peace of mind.

DHIVERSE would always recommend that you contact a solicitor when preparing your will. This need not be expensive, and will ensure that your wishes are followed.

There are two main types of legacy that you can make to DHIVERSE. Please tell your solicitor which type suits you best.

  • Residuary bequests - this means that once family and loved ones have been provided for, the remainder or a proportion of the deceased's estate is pledged to one or more charities.
  • Pecuniary bequests - this means that the deceased pledges a specific sum of money, or gift to a particular charity.

If you have decided to make a gift to DHIVERSE in your will, or have already done so please take just a minute to complete this online form , letting us know about your bequest. This does not commit you in any way, and you can change your will at any time. It does however help us to plan for our future projects.
