Employee fundraising and volunteering

Getting involved in a fundraising or volunteering project at work can be very rewarding. It's a great way to get to know your colleagues, to learn new skills, and to give yourself a challenge - and you can have loads of fun at the same time.

As an employer, by encouraging your staff to work together on fundraising projects you provide team-building and skills-learning opportunities, it can also enhance your corporate image with staff, suppliers, and the wider community.

Payroll Giving

Does your company have a payroll giving scheme? This is a great way to help support charities through your payroll. It is entirely up to employees as to whether they give and to which charity they wish to give. All donations are tax free, and a donation of £5 will only cost you £3.90. This money is deducted from your pay by your payroll department. If you are a higher rate tax payer it will cost you even less to donate to DHIVERSE.

In addition, some employers offer 'matched giving' schemes where they match or double your gift at no extra cost to you, this means even more money for the charity.

If you are an employee ask your employer if there is a payroll giving scheme in place. If not it is easy to set up payroll giving in the workplace: please ask your employer to , for more information as to how, or visit the Charities Aid Foundation site .

Once you have established that your employer does have a payroll giving scheme, you need to decide how much you wish to give each month. Remember you can change or cancel your donation at any time by telling your payroll department. Once you have done this and informed your payroll department please take just a minute to complete this online form , letting us know about your donation.
